BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, along with our Public Safety partners, continue to monitor the storm projections of Hurricane Dorian.

Currently, our teams have worked around the clock to prepare and distribute sandbags for our community, where over the past two days, over 70,000 sandbags have been distributed.

As a result of the potential impact to Brevard County, the Sheriff’s Office will continue distributing sandbags (at no cost) to our citizens, today and Sunday, at locations throughout Brevard County.

In an effort to expedite the process, we will be using inmate labor to fill and load the sandbags directly into our citizen’s vehicles at the four different locations.

This will be conducted under the supervision and direction of Sheriff’s Office employees. Each vehicle can obtain up to 10 free sandbags so they can help prepare their homes and businesses for potential flooding.

The four locations Saturday are:

NORTH BREVARD AREA: 8:00 a.m. to dark
855 Camp Road
Sharpes, Fl 32927

MERRITT ISLAND AND BEACHES: 8:00 a.m. to dark
Mitchell Ellington Park
575 Hall Road
Merritt Island, FL 32953

CENTRAL BREVARD AREA: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

2852 Fellowship Place
Viera, FL 32940

SOUTH BREVARD AREA: 8:00 a.m. to dark
Eastern Florida State College
Palm Bay Campus
Palm Bay, FL, 32909

The two locations respective to Saturday will be open for distribution beginning at 8 a.m. and will continue distributing through 4 p.m. or until supplies are gone.

One location Sunday:

NORTH BREVARD AREA: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Please continue to monitor the potential track of this major storm and take the necessary precautions to protect you, your family, your pets and your homes as we face another hurricane season together in Brevard County.
