BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech football’s Thomas Roman has been named to the 2019 Academic All-District Football Teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Academic All-District® Football Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Roman, a redshirt-junior linebacker out of Clearwater, Florida, is a four-year member of the Florida Tech football team. This season, Roman has appeared in seven games and recorded nine tackles and two pass breakups. He has recorded 30 tackles over 25 games in his Florida Tech career.

Roman boasts a 3.90 grade point average in aerospace engineering. He is also currently working on a Masters in Flight Test Engineering, which he began last fall.

He is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and has completed over 150-plus volunteer hours through the Kiwanis Club in Dunedin, Florida. Last spring, Roman received Distinguished Student Award for Aerospace Engineering.

Additionally, Roman had a short story published in 2015.

First Team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 9-12.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed in links provided above and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
