BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Friday morning, I joined members of our Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Team at R.L. Stevenson Elementary School in Merritt Island for “Donuts with Deputies.”
Of course we don’t call those delicious, round, fried sweet pastries “donuts” anymore, we now call them POWER RINGS because that sounds a lot more nutritious!!
Along with having a great time hanging out with the students, parents, and of course our amazing Brevard County Teachers we decided to have a little friendly Bouncy Ball competition between the Crime Prevention Deputies, Deputies from our East Precinct, and of course, Stevenson Elementary School Resource Deputy, Cpl. Curtis Brooks.
While Cpl. Brooks was clearly the crowd favorite, and easily won the stiff competition, Deputy Rush and Cpl. Martinez gave him a strong run for the title.
BCSO Mascot “Junny” and I had a great time during the event and of course I can’t think of a better way to spend a Friday morning than getting to know the students, teachers, and staff of R.L. Stevenson Elementary!!
As I spoke with the students, I saw future teachers, law enforcement officers, firefighters, doctors, and community leaders who will all make sure Brevard County remains one of the best communities to live in the country!
