Florida Tech’s Reid Chaconas First Panther To Be Named Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – Senior Reid Chaconas was named to the 2020 Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America Second Team. He is the first player in program history to earn preseason All-American honors.

Last season, Chaconas earned First Team All-Sunshine State Conference honors and was voted the top midfielder in the league recording 39 points on 33 goals and six assists to go along with 29 ground balls. His 2.75 goals per game in 2019 ranked fifth in the SSC.

A product of Westminster, Maryland, Chaconas has been featured on the All-SSC squads three times over his career. In addition to his first-team nod in 2019, he also received second team and freshman team honors during his first two seasons at Florida Tech.

Chaconas has played in 39 games over his career and amassed 69 goals, 15 assists and 44 ground balls.

Florida Tech kicks off the 2020 season on Saturday, Feb. 1 against Division I Mercer. The matchup is set to begin at 12 p.m. at Five Star Stadium in Macon, Ga.
