BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On the most recent edition of “Tourism Talk,” from the Space Coast Daily TV studios, Space Coast Office of Tourism Director Peter Cranis detailed Tourist Development Tax collections and exciting events coming up this spring.

Tourist Development Tax Collections for the fiscal year that began in October are up 15 percent over the prior year – and an impressive 11 percent over budget.

Cranis also provided a report on the campaign that began a week before the Super Bowl on Feb. 2 in Miami, which consisted of a $1 million eight-week campaign that targeted the Miami area and focused on family vacations and weekend trips for couples.

Cranis said the campaign was the largest single-city marketing campaign ever undertaken by the tourism office.

The second initiative is a $400,000 campaign that focuses on the Toronto market and highlights the Space Coast’s warm weather, great attractions and beautiful beaches.
