BREVARD COUNTY • SUNTREE, FLORIDA – Brevardians will “Come Together!” for a British Invasion concert, when the Indialantic Chamber Singers explore the influence of all things English on the American music scene at Advent Lutheran Church in Suntree on Sunday, March 22 at 3 p.m.

The church located at 7550 N. Wickham Road will resound with the music of the Beatles, coronations, royal weddings and more.

The group will perform choral works and hymns by English composers Benjamin Britten, John Rutter and others, in addition to popular music from the 20th century.

A medley of songs including “Bohemian Rhapsody” by the British rock band, Queen, will be accompanied by trumpet, bass guitar and drums. Pianist Teresa Fleenor and organist David Vogeding will be featured on some of the coronation pieces and songs performed at royal weddings.

The British Invasion centerpiece is a medley of 15 classic songs from The Beatles, including “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Let It Be,” “All You Need is Love,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” the poignant “Yesterday” — and a “Hey Jude” audience sing-along.

Artistic Director Beth Green will conduct the group. Begun in 1999, the Indialantic Chamber Singers are known for their flawless rendition of both accompanied and a cappella works, earning them the reputation as Brevard’s premier choral ensemble.

For Indialantic Chamber Singers Artistic Director, Beth Green, mixing old, new, traditional and eclectic music creates an entertaining and fun program for the audience, while showcasing the depth of talent of the Indialantic Chamber Singers.

“We are excited to present an incredibly wide variety of pieces all tied to Great Britain in some way,” said Mrs. Green. “This has been an especially fun program to plan and practice. I love hearing the choir sing beautiful a cappella pieces and then switching styles to ‘Sweet Dreams’ by the Eurythmics.”

The Indialantic Chamber Singers have performed several times in the nation’s capital at the invitation of the Washington National Cathedral. The organization is supported entirely by patron donations.

British Invasion is free of charge, with a suggested donation of $10. For more information about British Invasion or the performing season for the Indialantic Chamber Singers, visit IndialanticChamberSingers.org or call 321-426-0360.
