BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The Viera Wetlands Nature Festival is a two-day celebration of Florida wildlife and habitat conservation and will be held at the Ritch Grissom Memorial Wetlands in Viera, Florida.

This free community event is organized by Brevard County Natural Resource Management Department and Utility Services in partnership with the Viera Community Institute.

“The Viera Wetlands Nature Festival celebrates the success of the site and the contributions of its volunteers,” says Raleigh Berry, Senior Environmental Scientist for the Brevard County Natural Resource Management Department.

“It also focuses attention on funding challenges: the ongoing costs of repairing roads to allow continued vehicular access, a much-needed “Ranger Station” to shelter volunteers while on duty, maintenance concerns for existing observation towers, limited public parking, and other improvements essential to ensure the public’s safety and enjoyment while preserving the site’s natural beauty and diversity of wildlife.”

Returning to this year’s festival is the Flight of the Raptor exhibit sponsored by the Viera Community Institute and The Viera Company.
