Melbourne police detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a Brevard County man who was found dead when residents returned home Tuesday evening around 10:30 p.m. on the 1000 block of Garfield Street in Melbourne.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Melbourne police detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a Brevard County man who was found dead when residents returned home Tuesday evening around 10:30 p.m. on the 1000 block of Garfield Street in Melbourne.

“The man was not responsive and residents at the scene called for police assistance immediately,” said Melbourne Police Lt. Shawn Eising.

Lt. Eising said officers arrived and determined the man was deceased with signs of trauma.

“Investigators are seeking to locate witnesses in an effort to determine the circumstances of his death, efforts are underway to verify the victims identify and notify his next of kin,” said Lt. Eising.

The suspects are still at large and investigators are working on leads and are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Melbourne Police Department at 321-608-6443.
