BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County government facilities will re-open to the public on Monday, May 18. In an abundance of caution, limited access and appointment-only services will be in place in many departments until further notice as the County implements a safety-conscious approach to ensure that proper safety measures and Centers for Disease Control social distancing guidelines are observed.

County government facilities closed to the public on March 20, but day-to-day operations and services have continued. During the initial re-opening on Monday, citizens are encouraged to continue utilizing the County’s online service options and to contact departments by telephone or email to schedule an appointment.

However, all County facilities will be open for public access.

The County has installed new protective measures such as Plexiglas sneeze guards in areas visited regularly by the public, and implemented enhanced facility cleaning and disinfectant protocols put in place during the COVID-19 response to include regular sanitizing of frequently touched surfaces, such as door handles, stair railings and counter tops, in all County government facilities.

Those who visit without an appointment may be asked to schedule an appointment or to wait outside in their vehicles until County staff is available to assist them.

These processes are intended to help reasonably reduce potential exposure to COVID-19 by the public and by County employees while also providing County government services.
