BCSO: Brevard Sheriff’s Agents Investigating Fatal Shooting During Robbery Attempt

Shooting happened early Friday morning in unincorporated Cocoa

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred early this morning in unincorporated Cocoa. According to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tod Goodyear, a preliminary investigation indicates that the male victim may have been the target of a robbery attempt.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred early Friday morning in unincorporated Cocoa.

According to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tod Goodyear, a preliminary investigation indicates that the male victim may have been the target of a robbery attempt.

“The investigation began Friday at approximately 1:38 a.m. when deputies responded to a residence on Ackley Road in unincorporated Cocoa reference a male who had been shot,” said Goodyear.

“Upon arrival, deputies found a male inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. The male was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.”

At this time the Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the identity of the victim.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
