Nonprofit Organization ‘LEAD Brevard’ Elects 2020-2021 Board of Directors and Officers

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Three local leaders have been elected to the Board of Directors for LEAD Brevard at the May 13, 2020, annual meeting. These leaders join a group of 12 returning board members, elected for another term.

Newly elected to the Board are Shayla Murray, Administrative Director, Oil of Joy Church Ministries; Amar Patel, President & CEO, Brevard Achievement Center, and Wendy Romeu, President/CEO, Alluvionic Inc.

Returning to board service are Dale Dupree, The Sales Rebellion; Scott Eller, Rock Paper Simple Bart Gaetjens, Florida Power & Light; Robyn Hattaway, Cantwell, and Goldman, PA, and Canaveral Port Authority Commissioner; Michele Murrell, YMCA of Central Florida; Gary Neal, MEC Contractors – Engineers and Milo Zonka, Sheltair.

Officers for 2020 – 2021 fiscal year are Chris Kern, CFRE, Director of Operations and Sustained Giving, Health First Foundation, as Chairman of the Board; Beth Gitlin, Ph.D., Principal, BJG Global Consultants, as Vice Chairman and Mike Durante, Partner, Berman Hopkins CPAs & Associates, LLP as Treasurer.

They will be joined on the Executive Committee by Immediate Past Chairman, Dale Ketcham, Space Florida and Vinnie Taranto, Media-Over-Matter Productions, LC.

Outgoing board member Gina Kaiser, Florida Today/Gannett/localiq was recognized for her contributions to LEAD Brevard since 2007.

LEAD Brevard was founded in 1985 and is a nonprofit organization whose mission is “Working together to inspire people to lead.” The organizations’ flagship program Leadership Brevard sees 60 local leaders engaged from September through April developing professional networks, in dialogue about key county and regional issues, and exploring opportunities for increased civic involvement.

A newer program, Leadership Essentials, was developed in 2018 to meet the leadership skills development needs of the area’s high-potential leaders.
