Barefoot Bay 18-Year-Old Charged with Second-Degree Murder After Deadly Shooting at Palm Bay Park

Suspect's mother and sister also charged with Accessory After the Fact to Second-Degree Murder

Palm Bay Police have arrested 18-year-old Hunter Thomas Smiroldo of Barefoot Bay (above) for Second-Degree Murder after a shooting incident that claimed the life of 17-year-old Deven Bryan on Sunday at Oakwood Park on Koutnik Rd.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police have arrested 18-year-old Hunter Thomas Smiroldo of Barefoot Bay for Second-Degree Murder after a shooting incident that claimed the life of 17-year-old Deven Bryan on Sunday at Oakwood Park on Koutnik Rd.

Police say they received a 911 call just after midnight on Sunday, July 19, regarding  a shooting that had just taken place and resulted in one person being shot

The shooting victim was identified by police as 17-year-old Deven Bryan of Palm Bay. When police arrived at the scene, Bryan was transported to Palm Bay Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound.

The investigation has revealed that an altercation took place between Smiroldo and Bryan, which resulted in Bryan in being shot.

Detectives issued an arrest warrant for and were able to locate and arrest Smiroldo.

Smiroldo’s mother, 59-year-old Patricia Smiroldo  of Barefoot Bay, and his sister, 25-year-old Marisa Smiroldo of Palm Bay, were later arrested for Accessory After the Fact to Second-Degree Murder.

Police are still investigating shooting incident.
