Universal Orlando announced they will be closing down the Volcano Bay water park for the winter season starting next month.

The “seasonal closure” will be Nov. 2 and end on or before March 1 of 2022, according to the Universal website.

Universal officials say that it will use the closure time this winter to do annual maintenance on attractions within the park.

The Universal attraction along with Volcano Bay shut down in mid-March due to COVID-19. Universal then reopened to the public in Mid-June but with many new regulations to abide by the CDC guidelines.

Last month, the water park switched to a five-day schedule that resulted in the water park being closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The company also announced that they will work with people who have purchased tickets for the closure period as well as Universal’s annual pass holders.

“3-Park Seasonal and Annual passes that are valid beginning Nov. 2 will receive two additional months to compensate for Volcano Bay’s seasonal closure,” according to the Universal website.

“Customers who have already bought day tickets for Volcano Bay during the closure will be allowed to change the day or get a refund.”
