Copper's retirement party is set for September 17

The Cocoa Police Department is celebrating K9 Copper as the longtime law enforcement companion completes his final official day on duty. K9 Copper made one of his last public appearances at the Cocoa Walmart, where officers joined the community to collect school supplies for local students.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Police Department is celebrating K9 Copper as the longtime law enforcement companion completes his final official day on duty.

K9 Copper made one of his last public appearances at the Cocoa Walmart, where officers joined the community to collect school supplies for local students.

The event continued until 2 p.m., with residents invited to stop by and wish Copper well in retirement.

The Cocoa Police Department is celebrating K9 Copper as the longtime law enforcement companion completes his final official day on duty. K9 Copper made one of his last public appearances at the Cocoa Walmart, where officers joined the community to collect school supplies for local students.

The department also thanked Walmart Cocoa for supporting K9 Copper and the school supply drive.

Although his final shift has arrived, the community will have another opportunity to celebrate Copper during his retirement party on September 17.
