Melbourne Man Kills His Daughter and Grandson Before Committing Suicide: Police

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are investigating a double murder and suicide incident that happened Wednesday morning at a residence on the 2400 block of Forest Run Drive in Melbourne.
According to Lt. Shawn Eising of the Melbourne Police Department, the investigation has revealed Stephen Hewson, patriarch of the family, fatally shot and killed his daughter, Nicole Miller, and his adult grandson, Zerric Miller.
After Hewson killed his daughter and his grandson, he then committed suicide prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
Melbourne dispatch began receiving multiple calls from 2400 block of Forest Run Drive and surrounding residences at approximately 7:25 a.m. about gunshots that were heard from the home. When police officers arrived on scene, they discovered three adults with gunshot wounds.
Two of the individuals shot were dead at the scene, while a third individual was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center where they later died from their injuries.
