BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay police officials are highlighting members of their agency in honor of Black History Month and recently recognized Detective Hilda Benedith.

Detective Benedith was born in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to Florida when she was 19 years old.

She joined the Palm Bay Police Department in 2010. She has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, and neighborhood policing coordinator.

She currently serves as a detective in the Special Victims Unit where she investigates serious crimes against our most vulnerable adults and children.

Detective Benedith is the Palm Bay Police Department’s liaison for the Human Trafficking Task Force and serves as an advisor to our Police Explorer Post.
