Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Three After Being Featured on ‘Wheel of Fugitive’

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — This past week, Fugitive Agent Joe Groski received information from a citizen regarding the location of Crystal Doherty who was featured on the “Wheel of Fugitive” on April 13, 2021.

Working off of the information supplied by the citizen, Agents set up surveillance at a residence on Vanguard Drive, in Cocoa and subsequently determined that Doherty was at the residence along with Cory Walden who was also a wanted fugitive.

As a result, Agents surrounded the house which was also occupied by a number of other people who exited the residence at which time one of the subjects who was identified as Ronald Newby, another fugitive who was also wanted on felony warrants.

Once Newby was in custody, Agents turned their attention back to Doherty and Walden who were still hiding inside the residence but were soon taken into custody after Walden was found hiding in a small bathroom closet and Doherty was found hiding in a bedroom closet. Agents were able to take all three subjects into custody without incident and transported them to the Brevard County Jail on the following charges:

Crystal Doherty: Felony Warrant for Violation of Community Control reference Possession of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl with a bond of $40,000.00.

Cory Walden: Felony Warrant for Pre-Trial Release Violation reference Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Cocaine, and Trafficking in Fentanyl with a total bond of $45,000.00.

Ronald Newby III: Felony Warrant for Failure to Appear reference Burglary of a Dwelling and 2 additional misdemeanor warrants for Giving a False Name and Petit Theft. Total Bond of $12,000.00.
