SIT DOWN WITH STEVE: Rockledge High School sophomore Samantha Mason has accomplished something that not too many people her age have done: She recently published her first novel! “Lillian Grace is Absolutely not Normal” is the brainchild of Mason, having written it in a little less than one year.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Rockledge High School sophomore Samantha Mason has accomplished something that not too many people her age have done: She recently published her first novel!

“Lillian Grace is Absolutely not Normal” is the brainchild of Mason, having written it in a little less than one year.

Mason will be a presenter at the BAM Festival on Saturday, April 10 and will be afforded the opportunity to discuss her book.

According to the BAM Festival’s website, they are a books, art, and music convention for authors, illustrators, and performers who write for children and young adults.

Mason has always been interested in writing. Her mom, an English teacher, encouraged her daughter to read at an early age. According to Mason, English is her best subject.

The book is about a girl that thinks she is normal, but then, according to Mason, she finds out that she is more special than she thought she was.
