William ‘Bill’ Dahmke, 74, of Satellite Beach Passed Away April 22 at VITAS Hospice

William “Bill” Dahmke, 74, of Satellite Beach died Thursday, April 22, 2021 at VITAS Hospice in Rockledge, surrounded by family. He worked at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division and the FBI in Virginia, before moving to Florida in 1985, where he spent 28 years working at Harris GCSD. 

BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – William “Bill” Dahmke, 74, of Satellite Beach died Thursday, April 22, 2021 at VITAS Hospice in Rockledge, surrounded by family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Josephine Dahmke. Bill was born in Cleveland, Ohio, earned his Electrical Engineering degree from The Ohio State University and remained a proud Ohioan and Buckeye his whole life.

He worked at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division and the FBI in Virginia, before moving to Florida in 1985, where he spent 28 years working at Harris GCSD.

Bill was a lifelong Ham Radio operator (WA4EMU), active in HIARC and PCARS club. He was an outdoorsman, an avid fisherman, and a true DIYer who could fix anything. Above all he was a faithful family man and a Christian, serving others.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Grace Barrett Dahmke, four sons, William J. Dahmke and Michael L. Dahmke of Satellite Beach, Theodore D. Dahmke of Portland, OR, Richard (Anne) C. Dahmke of Indialantic, sister Barbara Dahmke of Columbus, OH, treasured granddaughters, Emma, Evelyn, Flora, Colette and countless cherished relatives and friends. He will be missed.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, FL. He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg, VA. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
