The Cocoa High School girls track and field team won the FSHAA 2A Regional Championship and are now headed to the state championship. The victorious Tigers finished with 93 points as second-place Bishop Moore finished with a score of 77. (Cocoa High Track & Field FB image)

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Cocoa High School girls track and field team won the FSHAA 2A Regional Championship and are now headed to the state championship.

The victorious Tigers finished with 93 points as second-place Bishop Moore finished with a score of 77.

Sophomore Liana Tyson dominated in the 100m and 200m sprints, placing first in both events.

Cocoa’s Mia Lewis and Aleyazia Williams scored 11 points finishing in the top five overall in the 100m hurdles.

The Tigers will now compete in the FHSAA Track and Field State Championships, set at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville in two weeks.
