Program will be narrated by Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Conductor, Aaron T. Collins

An enchanting story will come to life when your Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Quintet presents another installment of the popular Once Upon an Orchestra musical series for small fry at 10 a.m and 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 8 at McKee Botanical Garden, 350 U.S. Highway 1 in Vero Beach.
Designed for preschool and kindergarten-aged children, the 40-minute outdoor storytime will feature Vero Beach composer, R. Michael Daugherty’s work, The Wolf and the Seven Kids.
This delightful tale is true to the original by the Brothers Grimm. Like all good fairytales, it is a story of good versus evil.
A mother goat leaves her seven kids at home while she is out, warning them about the treachery of the wolf. The kids know the wolf’s tricks, but by revealing their knowledge to the wolf they allow the wolf to change tactics. The wolf tricks the kids and eats all but the youngest who is hidden.
How does the mother goat save her young?
Designed for preschool and kindergarten-aged children, the 40-minute outdoor storytime will entertain as well as educate tots about instruments of the woodwind family. The program will be narrated by Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Conductor, Aaron T. Collins.
The musical program for children is free, with regular admission to McKee Botanical Garden. The Once Upon an Orchestra series is funded through a grant by Indian River Impact 100, an organization of women dedicated to impacting the community through transformational giving.
