Pop-Up Events Planned at Brevard Bus Stops Tomorrow

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast Area Transit will be “popping up” at bus stops throughout Brevard to promote the 321Transit app this Wednesday, June 16.

With the new app, riders can view any bus on its route with real-time arrival information; receive bus tracker alerts with up-to-the-minute arrival times; find a route by name, address, area, location, or landmark; use the Trip Planner and navigate multiple stops and routes, and enjoy contactless mobile ticketing powered by Token Transit.

Morning pop-up events will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Melbourne Square Mall, across from JCPenney, and the Cocoa Transit Terminal on 401 South Varr Avenue.

Afternoon events include 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Melbourne – Orlando International Airport and at Shepard Park on 520 in Cocoa Beach.

Bus riders can present the downloaded app to bus drivers on Thursday, June 17, National Dump the Pump Day, to ride for free. In addition, anyone who downloads the app at the pop-up events will receive a free goodie bag from reThink, the FDOT commuter assistance program.

The goal of the community outreach effort is to educate bus riders on how to download and use the app so they can get where they need to go on time and know with confidence exactly when their bus is coming.

Additionally, a mobile fare option allows passengers to simply purchase a contactless bus pass with their credit or debit card, activate the pass when the bus arrives, and show the driver the pass on their phone to board.
