The 9/10/11 Baseball Tournament concluded Monday night with the last two games in the pool played at Port St. John Little League’s fields in Canaveral Groves.

BREVARD COUNTY • CANAVERAL GROVES, FLORIDA – The 9/10/11 Baseball Tournament concluded Monday night with the last two games in the pool played at Port St. John Little League’s fields in Canaveral Groves.

9/10/11 Baseball Tournament: Merritt Island VS. Port St. John Game Postponed

After a lightning delay, Merritt Island LL was the visiting team against Port St. John LL on Field #1. Merritt Island’s Sebastian Hamilton, Ethan Noonan, and Ethan Felker each scored in the first while Junior Simons added another run in their half of the second and Walker Fisk scored in the third.

Port St. John rallied back for three runs in the bottom of the third behind James Bunnell, John Platt, and Jacob Leos to pull within two of Merritt Island at 3-5.

Merritt Island’s bats got hot in the top of the 4th with 13 runs being scored before rain and the field’s sprinklers halted the game with 1 out and 2 runners on base.

Over on Field #2, Rockledge LL were the visitors and Mims LL was the home team. Rockledge’s starting pitcher, Austin Phipps, reached base in both at bats, but was stranded on third both times.

Over on Field #2, Rockledge LL were the visitors and Mims LL was the home team. Rockledge’s starting pitcher, Austin Phipps, reached base in both at bats, but was stranded on third both times.

Nick Menendez also reached base for Rockledge, but was also stranded by the Mims defense. On offense, Mims’ Ethan Flake had a triple and scored three runs, while Ryker Johnson and Dylan Turner also scored three runs each.

Mims’ pitcher, Ryker Johnson, pitched the entire game, facing 12 batters allowing 3 walks while striking out 9 in the 17-0 win.

Mims LL is the District 22 Champion in the 9/10/11 Baseball Division with a 3-0 record.

They will represent the district in the Section 3 Tournament this weekend at Indian River City Little League’s W.W. James Park in Titusville.
