BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Raul Quintero and Alex Carpenter earn College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team honors for their excellent performance in the classroom.

The 2020-21 Academic All-District Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Quintero is an All-SSC Second Team fifth-year graduate student who earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting while holding a 3.87 grade point average in the classroom.

On the field, Raul led the team in virtually every category for the Panthers in the 2021 season. He finished the year with a .348 batting average, 25 runs, seven doubles, three home runs, and a .522 slugging percentage. In addition, he has posted 49 stolen bases in his career and now sits at #10 for most stolen bases in program history.

Carpenter was a dominant force in the Panther bullpen in the 2021 season, accumulating 13 strikeouts in 11 innings of work and recording ten saves on the year, most in the SSC.

However, the junior was perfect in the classroom earning a 4.00 GPA while pursuing a Psychology degree at Florida Tech.
