BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A team of assessors from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation will be conducting a virtual assessment to examine all aspects of the Titusville Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations and support services in December.

“Accreditation ensures we are using the best practices in the State and it’s a recognition we can all be very proud of,” said TPD Chief John Lau.

According to TPD, the department has to comply with 239 standards in order to receive State accredited status, which is for a period of three years.

“The assessment team is composed of law enforcement practitioners from similar agencies,” said Accreditation Manager Stacey Woodward.

“The assessors will electronically review written materials and interview individuals, along with virtually viewing offices and other places where compliance can be witnessed, and virtually inspecting all aspects of the department and report back to the Commission.”
