Former Cocoa Tiger, Current St. Thomas RB Tay Tay Farmer Breaks Multiple Single Season Records

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Former Cocoa Tigers running back and current St. Thomas University freshman running back Tay Tay Farmer has set a single-season rushing yard and touchdown record for the Bobcats.

The freshman star running back finished the season with 848 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns.

Farmer is now the record holder for most rushing yards and touchdowns in a single season all-time at St. Thomas University.

In September, Farmer was named Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the week after a huge 100 yard, 2 touchdown performance. Soon after that, Farmer became the first running back in St. Thomas University history to rush for 3 touchdowns in a single game.

To wrap up his stellar freshman campaign, Farmer finished with 19 carries and 221 yards with 3 touchdowns in a 38-14 victory over Point University to finish the season 9-2.

St. Thomas University is a private Catholic university in Opa-locka North, Miami Gardens, Florida, offering athletics programs through the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is a member of The Sun Conference.

St. Thomas has six players on the roster from Brevard County, including Deris Spivey of Space Coast, Ja’Quez Hicks of Cocoa, Holy Trinity’s Darico Frazier, Tayshaw Peppers and Ja’Lon Hudgins, and Viera’s Brady Touzet.

Farmer spent his senior year at Cocoa High School and rushed for 606 yards and 9 touchdowns on 53 carries.
