BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A groundbreaking ceremony for the new upscale Cirrus apartment complex in north Cocoa will be held on Dec. 1 at 4:30 p.m.

Members of the Framework Group and Cocoa city officials will be on hand to mark the occasion.

The Cocoa City Council approved the development agreement last February with the Framework Group to build the high-end apartments at the location of the former Winn-Dixie Shopping Center on State Road 524 which has been sitting vacant for nearly 15 years.

The 280 unit complex will be centrally located off of State Road 524 near U.S. Hwy. 1 and State Road 528, will offer studio to three-bedroom units, and is the first high-end apartment complex in the Cocoa community.

This multi-family complex will feature a courtyard with a pool, grilling areas, outdoor gathering spaces, a four-story clubhouse, rooftop lounge, a dog park, walking trails and a rocket viewing area.

Construction will take place in two phases with the first phase being the apartment complex and the second phase consisting of commercial development.

“With a large influx of space industry employees to our area and the addition of the Amazon distribution facility, these apartments will offer another variety of housing options in the Cocoa area that we haven’t had in the past,” said Cocoa Mayor Michael Blake.

The City of Cocoa is a community of 19,328 located in the heart of Brevard County and was incorporated in 1895, making the city one of the county’s original communities.
