Former Rockledge Raider, North Carolina Tar Heels Wide Receiver Antoine Green Makes Superb Catch vs South Carolina

BREVARD COUNTY β’ ROCKELDGE, FLORIDA β Former Rockledge Raider and current North Carolina Wide Receiver Antoine Green turned a lot heads on Thursday in the Tar Heels bowl game vs South Carolina.
The 6-foot-2 and 205-pound senior from Rockledge showcased his skills during the Tar Heels’ 38-21 loss to South Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
Despite the loss, Green led the team in receptions (4) for 73-yards. The best play came towards the end of the second quarter when Green high-pointed the ball to full extension and managed to get one-foot in-bounds with 27-yard reception with 1:28 to go in the second quarter.
Green had a solid senior year by finishing second on the team in receiving yards (539) and receptions (27). He also reeled in five touchdowns on the year.
Green could exercise a fifth-year next year with the added COVID-19 year added to each college football player’s career. The other alternative is to declare for NFL Draft and try his hand at the professional level.
He has not yet announced his future plans.
In high school, Green was four-star prospect and a member of the ESPN300.
He was also listed by ESPN.com as the No. 37 wide receiver nationally and the No. 55 player in the state of Florida β’ Rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports as the No. 45 wide receiver in the country and the No. 36 player in Florida
Green was coached by Wayne Younger at Rockledge, where also competed in track and field and played basketball. He was one of the top prep sprinters in Florida with PRs of 10.91 in the 100 and 21.54 in the 200. He was also an elite jumper with a 23-2 long jump and a 45-11 1/4 triple jump.
