BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Health Alliance, Brevard County’s only Federally Qualified Health Center, received an allocation of FDA-approved COVID-19 at-home self-test kits from the Federal Government through a Testing Supply Program.
The goal of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) COVID-19 Testing Supply Program is to get free at-home self-test kits out for distribution to communities, especially those populations at greatest risk from adverse outcomes related to COVID-19.
Brevard Health Alliance partners with Brevard Public Schools (BPS) to give away 14,850 test kits for BPS staff and students.
Testing kits were given to BPS on Friday, January 7, 2022. This week BPS is delivering the kits to each school and work site.
“We are proud of the great relationship between Brevard Health Alliance and BPS,” said Superintendent Dr. Mark Mullins.
“It is that relationship that made it possible to get these tests into our schools. We appreciate all their support.”
Brevard Health Alliance is currently working with other community partners and agencies as well, to distribute additional testing kits throughout Brevard County.
“We value our commitment to our patients and our community,” said Austin Helton, CEO of Brevard Health Alliance. “We are excited to partner and get these test kits out to the communities we serve.”
In partnering with the Department of Health for Brevard County, Anita Stremmel shared this: “We are very appreciative to Brevard Health Alliance for providing us with at-home test kits. Test kits will not be made available to the general public; our distribution strategy is to work directly with organizations that assist high-risk and underserved populations.”
