PETER CRANIS: Last week was our first TDC meeting of 2022, and in the time since we last met, the marketing team has been busy. We provided a brief update during the meeting which you can see in the video below, beginning at the 24:38 time stamp.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Last week was our first TDC meeting of 2022, and in the time since we last met, the marketing team has been busy. We provided a brief update during the meeting which you can see in the video below, beginning at the 24:38 time stamp.

A few of the highlights we covered include the return of Surfing Santa’s annual event. We spent Christmas Eve sending pictures and video of this event to our major media outlets, and this year it resulted in 502 placements and 764 million impressions.

If we were to pay for that coverage it would have cost us more than $2 million.

Another highlight we shared featured our Fall is for Foodies integrated social media campaign utilizing regional foodie influencers, paid and organic social media and website content.

Throughout the fall we created messages focused on the exciting culinary scene here on the Space Coast and encouraged weekend visits to enjoy these unique dining experiences. These efforts created more than a million social media impressions, more than 11,000 visits to our website, and highlighted more than 80 local locations.

Finally, we are actively planning for our spring and summer advertising campaigns targeted to the leisure traveler and the cruise markets. Stay tuned to upcoming newsletters for more details on these, 2022 is going to be an exciting year!

PETER CRANIS: From a new hotel perspective, we are still seeing new projects pop up. Right now there are over 1,000 new rooms between 2021 and 2022. It looks like 2023 will be a breakout year with more than 1,200 new rooms planned. That would put us over 12,300 rooms for the destination.
