Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott Provides Election Related Information for the 2022 City of Palm Bay Special Election

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A Special Election to fill the vacancy for the City of Palm Bay Council Seat 5 will be held on Tuesday, March 8. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

At its regular meeting on October 21, 2021, the City Council scheduled a special election to fill a vacancy due to the resignation of Seat 5 Councilman Jeff Bailey.

This special election will elect a successor to serve the remainder of the term of City Council Seat 5 which expires on November 8, 2022, and on the ballot will be Alfy Ramsey Agarie, Jimmy Backus, Peter Filiberto and Phil Moore.

All registered voters whose residential address falls within the City of Palm Bay are eligible to vote in this election.

Domestic mail ballots were sent on Feb. 3 and the Military and Overseas mail ballots were sent in January. Voters have until 5 p.m. on Feb. 26 to request a mail ballot if they are not already on the mail ballot request list.

Drop boxes are available to return voted mail ballots at all four Supervisor of Elections Offices from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, March 8. Mail Ballots must be received by the Supervisor of Elections by 7 p.m. on Election Night.

Per Florida Statute, a Logic and Accuracy test of the election equipment will take place on Feb. 21 at the Election Support Center, located at 525 N. John Rodes Blvd. in Melbourne beginning at 9 a.m.

Voters may visit VoteBrevard.gov or call 321-290-VOTE (8683) should they need assistance or have election-related questions. Sample ballots for the 2022 City of Palm Bay Special Election are available on VoteBrevard.gov and will also be mailed to voters the week of Feb. 21.
