BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College baseball team won both ends of a doubleheader against Indian River State College Saturday afternoon at Bruce Bochy Field.

Titans did it in dramatic style.

After trailing 5-1 after five innings in Game 1, the Titans came storming back to take the lead in the eighth inning. Jackson Woodward would come in to finish the game for the Titans with two scoreless innings.

Game 2 saw much the same thing as the Titans fell behind 4-1 after six innings of the seven-inning game but in the bottom of the seventh inning, the team once again battled back to tie the game.

Jason Blackstone hit a two-run double to make it 4-3 and then a pop-out to the catcher would tie the game as nobody covered home, allowing the tying run to score.

And then with the bases loaded in the eighth inning, Ivan Zambrano hit a walk-off single to give the Titans a 5-4 win.

Eastern Florida State College won the three-game series with Indian River State College and is now in a race for the second spot in the Southern Conference standings as both Indian River and the Titans have four wins along with South Florida State College.

The Titans will open a three-game series with South Florida State College Wednesday evening at Bruce Bochy Field. The game will be broadcast live on WEFS-TV.
