BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s women’s rowing coach Adam Thorstad has been named the Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year, as announced by the conference office on Friday.

It is the sixth SSC Coach of the Year Award for Thorstad, who is concluding his 16th season at the helm of the Panthers. He remains the only head coach in program history to receive the award.

Florida Tech capped the season off with a second-place finish in the Varsity Four at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa.

The Panthers also earned two runner-up finishes at the FIRA championships in the V2x and V2-, and a third-place team finishes at the SSC regatta.

Under Thorstad’s guidance, two Panthers garnered All-SSC honors following the SSC regatta.

Senior Liza Lutter was selected to the All-SSC Team while Sydney Frieberger secured a spot on the All-Freshman/Novice Team.
