Bulldogs' first-ever fast-pitch softball title, finished the season with 26-2-1 record

CLERMONT — The Melbourne High School softball team won the FHSAA Class 6A state championship in a thrilling 1-0 game, blanking Doral Academy to win the Bulldog’s first-ever fastpitch softball state title.
The Bulldogs’Jazzy Francik was once again brilliant in the circle, shutting down the high-flying Firebirds with 11 K’s.
Melbourne got things going offensively in the top of the sixth inning when Hailey Turner drilled a triple and then Sofia Valcourt hit a sacrifice fly to score Turner with the game-winner.
The Bulldogs finished the season with a 26-2-1 record and the players and coaches include:
