One Person Dead After I-95 Crash Near Melbourne, Two People Injured

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that killed a 32-year-old Orlando woman Saturday morning on I-95 near mile marker 189 in Melbourne.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that killed a 32-year-old Orlando woman Saturday morning on I-95 near mile marker 189 in Melbourne.

According to FHP crash investigators, the woman was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima northbound on I-95 around 5:32 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, struck a guardrail and overturned.

A good samaritan, who was traveling in the southbound lane, stopped to help the woman get out of the vehicle as it laid disabled on the inside lane on I-95. However, a 2016 Honda Civic driven by a 34-year-old Rockledge man crashed into the vehicle after the woman was pulled from the vehicle by the good samaritan.

The woman was pronounced dead.

The Good Samaritan and the Rockledge man suffered minor injuries from the crash.
