10,000 spectators came out to support the Greatest Show on Surf which raised over $80,000

WATCH: The weather outside was frightful but the Surfing Santa crowds on Cocoa Beach on Christmas Eve morning were so delightful, despite 30-degree temperatures. In true Christmas spirit, nearly 10,000 spectators came out to support the Greatest Show on Surf which raised over $80,000 from event tee-shirts and raffle tickets sold for the chance to an SUV called a Toyota HILUX Turbo Diesel, actually a collector’s car that’s called “SURF” in Japan.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The weather outside was frightful but the Surfing Santa crowds on Cocoa Beach on Christmas Eve morning were so delightful, despite 30-degree temperatures.

In true Christmas spirit, nearly 10,000 spectators came out to support the Greatest Show on Surf which raised over $80,000 from event tee-shirts and raffle tickets sold for the chance to an SUV called a Toyota HILUX Turbo Diesel, actually a collector’s car that’s called “SURF” in Japan.

This year’s winner was Kirstin McDonough.

Fun Fact: $1,000 of funds raised was actually donated by The Kelly Clarkson Show, who was inspired by George Trosset’s story!

Since its inception, the Cocoa Beach Surfing Santas event has raised more than $300,000 for two local non-profits, including Grind for Life and the Florida Surf Museum.

The Grind For Life organization provides financial assistance to cancer patients and their families when traveling long distances to doctors and hospitals and the Florida Surf Museum preserves and documents all aspects of the unique history and culture of Florida surfing through exhibits, and events.
