The Viera Company’s Todd Pokrywa Plays in Celebrity Shinny Hockey Game to Benefit the Easter Seals

Playing alongside two legendary Toronto Maple Leaf captains, Wendel Clark and Doug Gilmour
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Todd Pokrywa, the philanthropic president of The Viera Company in Brevard County on Florida’s Space Coast, is at it again, this time at the Celebrity Shinny Hockey Game in Toronto, Canada, that benefitted the Easter Seals.
Traveling from the top-selling master-planned community of Viera, Florida, to Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, Pokrywa said he had a blast playing in the Celebrity Shinny Hockey Game late last month as part of Team Clark vs. Team Gilmour.
“I was selected to participate with my support of Easter Seals,” said Pokrywa. “Playing alongside two legendary Toronto Maple Leafs captains, Wendel Clark and Doug Gilmour, and former Maple Leafs greats Al Iafrate and Tom Fergus was thrilling.”
Pokrywa said playing hockey with these four NHL Alumni in the Maple Leafs’ home rink was a tremendous experience.

“It was amazing skating on the team with Wendel Clark – my favorite player of all time and an inspirational leader with character dedicated to working in the community,” said Pokrywa. “All four of these great NHL Alumni continue to support many important causes, and it is even more fulfilling to me that our paths cross with our common efforts.”
Last November, Pokrywa supported the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer tournament in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. And in June, he was in Toronto to participate in the Hockey Helps the Homeless Bay Street Tournament fundraiser – and, in his winning style, was the highest fundraiser and successfully raised more than $7,500 for the cause.
Pokrywa also represented The Viera Company as the Captain of Team Viera at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer tournament. This is the world’s largest road hockey tournament and raised $2.6 million this year, and Team Viera was a top 25 fundraising team in the tournament that included 140 teams and approximately 1,500 players.
