FHP: 60-Year-Old Palm Bay Woman Struck and Killed On Interstate 95 in Palm Bay Early Sunday

FHP: driver was unable to avoid the pedestrian and struck her with his vehicle

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 60-year-old Palm Bay woman was killed in a traffic incident overnight Sunday at 2:45 a.m. on Interstate 95 at Mile Marker 175. According to FHP spokesperson Lieutenant Channing L. Taylor, a white Toyota Camry driven by a 53-year-old Palm Bay woman was traveling northbound in the outside lane of Interstate 95 as the victim was standing in the outside northbound travel lane of Interstate 95. 

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 60-year-old Palm Bay woman was killed in a traffic incident overnight Sunday at 2:45 a.m. on Interstate 95 at Mile Marker 175.

According to FHP spokesperson Lieutenant Channing L. Taylor, a white Toyota Camry driven by a 53-year-old Palm Bay man was traveling northbound in the outside lane of Interstate 95 as the victim was standing in the outside northbound travel lane of Interstate 95.

“Minutes before this crash, the pedestrian had been involved in a single-vehicle crash where her Toyota Camry had struck a tree on
the shoulder and caught fire,” said Lt. Taylor.

Lt. Taylor said the driver was unable to avoid the pedestrian and struck her with his vehicle.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene and this crash remains under investigation.
