BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – New Life Mission is “Opening Eyes to Homelessness” in Brevard County during its annual Spring fundraiser on April 27 and 28 at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place.

Guests are invited to attend either Thursday, April 27, or Friday, April 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and can register by emailing CCS@NewLife-Mission.org.

There is no cost to attend and guests will be asked to make a donation. The Hilton Melbourne is located at 200 Rialto Place.

During the luncheon, attendees will learn about the history of New Life Mission, formerly Brevard Rescue Mission, and the impact the organization has had on transforming the lives of homeless women with children over the last 14 years.

Guests will also hear an inspirational story from a mother who successfully completed the New Life Mission program.

“Calls for help to our intake line increased 181 percent over the last year,” said New Life Mission CEO Amy Lyon. “The need is out there and we’re meeting that need with a plan to double the number of families we can help in 2023.”

New Life Mission recently opened its fourth campus, New Life Village, on the site of the former Hacienda Girls Ranch in Melbourne. The expansion will allow the organization to serve even more families.

“We are in need of community support more than ever,” said Lyon.

“We are always looking for volunteers to help in our Kids Academy, in our Transformed Shop sewing center, and with our facilities team.”

Because New Life Mission teaches families how to live self-sufficiently without government assistance by the time they graduate from the program, they model that principle by not utilizing government funding.

“We rely solely on donations from individuals, churches, businesses, and grants to assist families in transforming their lives,” said Lyon. “Our Community Care and Share fundraiser brings in the much-needed donations to continue our day-to-day operations.”
