Police Arrest Suspect For First-Degree Premeditated Murder of Titusville Resident Carl Wigfall

Titusville Police announced on Thursday that an arrest has been made in connection to the April 24 shooting death of 56-year-old Carl F. Wigfall of Titusville.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police announced on Thursday that an arrest has been made in connection to the April 24 shooting death of 56-year-old Carl F. Wigfall of Titusville.

Police identified the suspect as Dominic Michaud Bland, 31, of Titusville.

Bland was taken into custody on April 26, 2023, and charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder, Felony Fleeing and Eluding from Law Enforcement, 2 counts of Violation of Probation, Resisting Arrest, and Driving with a Suspended License with Knowledge.

“Early Monday morning, officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence located on the 600 block of Palmetto Street. Wigfall was found by responding officers in the home with apparent fatal gunshot wounds,” said Titusville Police Officer Amy Matthews.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect shot Wigfall in the residence and fled the scene.”

Investigative evidence prompted Detectives to issue a warrant for the arrest of Dominic Bland, who was subsequently located and taken into custody on Wednesday.

Bland is being held in the Brevard County Jail without bond.

This homicide investigation remains ongoing and more details will be released.
