BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue presented Lieutenant James Harris with the 2022 Tim Mills Commemorative Award.

Lieutenant James Harris was surprised Tuesday morning when he returned to Station 24 to a room filled with his colleagues and family members.

“Lt. Harris, a 30-year veteran of BCFR, was humbled and at a loss for words when he was presented with the 2022 Tim Mills Commemorative Award,” said a BCFR spokesperson.

In 2002, BCFR lost Assistant Chief Tim Mills, who brought to Fire Rescue integrity, determination, and humor throughout his career.

“His character reflected the very best in the fire service and is a measuring tool for all of us.”

The award was presented by Fire Chief Patrick Voltaire, along with Chief Mills’ son, BCFR Lieutenant Tim Mills, Jr.
