BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech men’s rowing was named the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association Comeback Team of the Year, the organization announced Wednesday.

The Comeback Team of the Year honor is given to a team that has shown significant improvement with their perseverance, determination, and dedication.

“It is an honor to have the team come through months of anxiety and unknowns to rally together late in the spring season and row for each other with the commitment we rowers all cherish, to levels of success that all can be proud of,” said Interim Head Coach Casey Baker. “Cheers to Florida Tech!”

The Panthers earned the award after beginning their Varsity season at the end of February and making a quick turnover with their first race on March 18.

The Varsity 8+ claimed multiple first-place finishes, including at the FIRA Championship. The crew saw third-place finishes at the SIRA Championship and Atlantic Sprints.

Tech concluded its 2023 campaign at the IRA Regatta, with Varsity 4+ taking fourth place.
