Michael J. Delaney, age 63, of Melbourne, Florida, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 26, 2023, in his home, from complications of pancreatic cancer. He was employed as an aerospace engineer for almost 18 years at Northrop Grumman in Melbourne.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Michael J. Delaney, age 63, of Melbourne, Florida, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 26, 2023, in his home, from complications of pancreatic cancer.

Michael was born in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and later relocated with his parents and six siblings to Satellite Beach, Florida, in 1967.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida.

He was employed as an aerospace engineer for almost 18 years at Northrop Grumman in Melbourne.

Michael was an avid boater and fisherman and a UCF Football fanatic, attending every home game as a proud season ticket holder.

He enjoyed happy hours on the water, playing golf with the boys, trips to the Florida Keys, restoring classic cars, and spending time with his family.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen, of 41 years, their three children, and five grandchildren; daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Brian Leventhal, their three children, Delaney, Benjamin, and Riley, daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Timothy Jorgensen, their two children, Isabel and Emery, and son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Mackenzie Delaney.

A private memorial service will be held at Island Cremations and Funeral Home on Merritt Island.
