Four Florida Tech Men’s Swimmers Recognized as Scholar All-Americans

CSCAA recognized a total of 2,290 swimmers and divers

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Daniel Aizenberg, Nathaniel Allen, Connor Orth and Max Martino of Florida Tech men’s swimming was named 2023 Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) in a press release by the CSCAA on Thursday, July 7th.

The CSCAA recognized a total of 2,290 (1,270 women and 1,020 men) swimmers and divers as Scholar All-Americans for the 2022-23 season.

To be named to the First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 and participate in their respective national championship.

Second-Team selections also earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher and met the “B” time standard for the national championship or participated in a diving zone qualification meet.

In Division II alone, there were a total of 356 Scholar-Athletes recognized by the CSCAA compiled of 194 women and 162 men.

First-Team Scholar All-Americans honors were rewarded to Aizenberg, Allen, and Orth with Martino being named a CSCAA Second-Team All-American.

Aizenberg who is Global Management and Finance earned a 3.8 GPA for the Spring 2023 semester. He was recently by the College Sports Communicators as a CSC Academic All-American along with being named to the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll for the past four seasons.

He was named First-Team All-America with a 7th place finish at the 2022-2023 NCAA Championships for Swimming and Diving along with being a part of the men’s 400 Medley relay team that finished 19th at NCAA’s. He also earned gold at the 2022-2023 SSC Championships, both in the 100 Yard Backstroke and.

This is Aizenberg’s third CSCAA Scholar All-American honor as he was named a First-Team Scholar All-American in 2022 and Honorable Mention In 2020.

Majoring in Neuropsychology, Allen finished the spring 2023 semester with his fifth straight 4.0 GPA. He was named an Outstanding Student of the Year along with being named to the 2023 SSC Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Orth, a sophomore Marine Biology major, was another member of the 400 Medley Relay team. finished the semester with a 3.5 GPA. He has been named twice to the SSC Commissioner’s honor roll in 2022 and 2023 as well as earning CSC Academic All-District Honors.

Martino, a Junior Mechanical Engineering major, earned a 3.76 GPA this past semester. He earned 2023 CSC Academic All-District Honors as well as being named to the SSC Spring Honor Roll in 2023 and 2021.

He met the “B” time standard, after recording a time of 20.61 seconds in the 50 Yard Freestyle at this past season’s Panther Invitational.
