BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The No. 4 ranked Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team will open the regular season on the road Thursday.

The Titans, who are coming off another 12-win season and reached the national tournament semifinals, will travel to Tifton, Georgia to play Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College at 5 p.m.

“We are excited to get going, it seems like it has been a quick summer but we are excited to see the new players come in and we have some really good local players as well as some good international players,” Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer coach Scott Carswell said.

“We have played a couple of good exhibition games and are ready to get the season started on Thursday.”

Eastern Florida State College has nine players returning this including Nancy Almanza who had 10 goals in her freshman season and was on the All-Region 8 first team along with returning defender Sofia Posner.

“I think that while we may not have the superstars we have had in the past, this team is really well rounded, it is a talented group that I am excited to see,” Carswell said.

“It is going to be a tough season, we have to stay healthy and be organized and stay prepared, get better every game because we have a really tough schedule.”

The Titans will be home for the first time on Sunday, Sept. 3 against No. 13 Laramie County Community College.
