Five Eastern Florida State College Women’s Soccer Players Named to All-Region 8 Team

Titans head into the national tournament 11-3-1 on the season

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team has five players named to the All-Region 8 Team released on Tuesday.
The Titans, who won the Region 8 Conference Tournament as well as the Southeast District title to advance to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament, tied with Daytona State College in the regular season and each have five players on the all-Region 8 Team.
Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Pastor was named the Region 8 Goalkeeper of the Year after allowing just two goals in conference play, both coming on penalty kicks.
Pastor has started all 15 games for the Titans and has allowed just eight goals all season with six shutouts.
Sophomore Ana Alvarez Garcia has started all four conference games this season as a midfielder for the Titans and has helped them go 3-1. For the season, Garcia has started all 15 games and has a goal and three assists.
Sophomore Sofia Posner also started every match this season and had a couple of assists from her defensive back position. Posner has three goals and four assists this season. It is the second straight season that Posner has been named to the all-Region 8 team.
Sophomore Mia Lewis has played multiple positions this season for the Titans and has started every game this season. She scored the lone goal in the first win against Polk State and has three for the season.
Sophomore Nancy Almanza had a goal against Daytona State College and has 10 goals this season to go with six assists. It is the second straight season that Almanza has been named to the all-Region 8 team.
The Titans head into the national tournament 11-3-1 on the season.
