A Celebration of Life for Glo Val will be held Saturday, August 26

Glo Val passed away peacefully, with her daughters by her side, Friday, July 28, 2023. She was 99 years old. She belonged to several organizations, including Patrick Air Force Base Officer’s Club, Military Officer’s Association of America – MOAA, Suntree Country Walk Association, Our Saviors Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach and Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Glo Val passed away peacefully, with her daughters by her side, Friday, July 28, 2023. She was 99 years old.

She is Survived by : Daughters, Valree Maxwell, Marlene Johnson, Cheryl Puleo (Paul), Jeanette Carrigo, Son, Dwayne Carrigo. Grand children, Daniela Das (Pranab), Nicole Brower (Jim), Melissa Larochelle, Autumn Stelzer (Erik), Andrew Carrgio (Denise), Natalee Maxwell (Scott), Alysha Green (Stephen), Jessica Carrigo, Remington Carrigo (Arden), Jonathan Puleo and Colton Carrigo. Glo Val had fifteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Nephews, Vincent Best and Tony Best (Gloria).

Preceded in death: Her husband of 50 years, Col. Edward A. Carrigo, Jr., Parents Anthony and Susan Delgado, Son Dr. Edward “Allen” Carrigo, III, Sisters Mary Alice Delgado and Lucille Best. Grandson, Jeffrey Yamrick.

Glo Val, was born in San Antonio, Texas on Valentine’s Day. She lived through the depression, married her husband, Edward, February 12th 1942, two days before her 18th birthday.

They met each other when she 9 years old. Their friendship grew into more when they became teenagers. Shortly after they wed, Edward left for WWII. Glo Val raised six children, enjoyed a full life of travel in several countries and military posts as a military Army wife.

When Edward retired, they moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida, to start their retirement life and travel. Glo Val collected items from all over the world. One day she decided to open a small import store, “La Glo Val Imports.” Customers enjoyed her vivid tale of each item she sold.

Glo Val loved to draw and paint black and white photos in color. Glo Val loved her family and had a special relationship with each of her children and even more so with her grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

Glo Val especially enjoyed the holidays and liked to leave her Christmas tree up year round. Glo Val was loved by all and her presence will be dearly missed.

Glo Val belonged to several organizations: Patrick Air Force Base, Officer’s Club, Military Officer’s Association of America, MOAA, Suntree Country Walk Association, Our Saviors Catholic Church, Cocoa Beach, Florida and Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne, Florida.

Services for Glo Val Carrigo, will be held at the Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, Cocoa Beach. Friday, August 25, 2023. Viewing 4:00 p.m. to 5:00p.m. Memorial Services to begin at 5:00 p.m., Father John, officiating.

Glo Val will be reunited with Edward, at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC, at a later date.

A Celebration of Life for Glo Val will be Saturday August 26, 2023, 3 p.m.to 6 p.m. at the home of Paul and Cheryl Puleo.
