SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched Dragon’s seventh operational human spaceflight mission early Saturday morning at 3:27 a.m.
WATCH REPLAY: SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket 9:05 p.m. EDT Saturday night with a payload of 22 Starlink internet satellites from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL SPACE FOREC STATION, FLORIDA – SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket 9:05 p.m. EDT Saturday night with a payload of 22 Starlink internet satellites from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
About 8 minutes later, the Falcon 9’s first stage came back to Earth for a landing on the SpaceX drone ship Just Read the Instructions, which was stationed in the Atlantic Ocean off Brevard County.
This mission brought the total number of Starlink satellites SpaceX has launched to more than 5,000, according to astrophysicist and satellite tracker Jonathan McDowell.
This is the Space Coast of Florida’s 44th launch in 2023 and the second launch from the Space Coast today as a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched Dragon’s seventh operational human spaceflight mission (Crew-7) early Saturday morning at 3:27 a.m. ET, to the International Space Station from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
