Message from Sheriff Wayne Ivey

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On behalf of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, my wife Susan and I, and of course, America’s Top Police Dog, Junny, we want to wish all of you a safe and happy New Year.
While I am always excited for the start of the new year, it is also a time when I reflect on how blessed I am to be part of such an incredible agency and how lucky we are to be surrounded by a community that loves us, trusts us, and protects us, just as much as we love, trust, and protect them.
The amazing men and women of our agency do so much each and every day of the year to keep our citizens, our pets, and our community safe, and I could not be more proud of them.
As Sheriff, I am not only grateful for their passion and dedication to the job, which makes Brevard a safer place to live, but also for their professionalism and bravery.
Collectively, our accomplishments and partnership over this past year as not only an agency, but a community, have worked to lower our crime rate by almost 52%, save lives, and to make Brevard County one of the safest, and most amazing, places in the country to call home.
As we embark on 2024, I wish everyone the strength to make the most of the year ahead, as our agency members stand committed to our “BCSO New Year’s Resolution” of working together to continue lowering our crime rate, protecting all of our citizens (both human and four-legged), standing up for victims’ rights, targeting criminals before they can target our citizens, and doing absolutely everything we can to keep our community safe.
I love Brevard County, our incredible citizens, and everything we stand for, so let’s do it again Brevard and soar into 2024!
– Sheriff Wayne Ivey
