Former Cocoa Tiger, Ohio State Safety Cedrick Hawkins Transfers to UCF

Former Cocoa Tiger and current Ohio State defensive back Cedrick Hawkins transferred to the University of Central Florida. Hawkins joins a plethora of other Brevard County natives that are on the Knights’ roster including Ladarius Dennison, Jaylen Hayward, DJ Mccormick, and Jarrad Baker to name a few.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Former Cocoa Tiger and current Ohio State defensive back Cedrick Hawkins transferred to the University of Central Florida.

Hawkins joins a plethora of other Brevard County natives that are on the Knights’ roster including Ladarius Dennison, Jaylen Hayward, DJ Mccormick, and Jarrad Baker to name a few.

The class of 2023 4-star athlete has four years of eligibility after redshirting as a freshman last fall.

Hawkins finished with five tackles during Saturday’s spring game.

Coming out of high school Hawkins chose Ohio State over other big-name programs in the mix such as Florida State, the University of Florida, Georgia Tech, and Penn State, to name a few.

According to 247Sports, he was ranked as the nation’s No. 347 prospect and No. 35 safety in his class.

Hawkins, a 5-foot, 11-inch, 170-pound safety, is related to former Cocoa Tiger and Louisville Cardinal, and current Los Angeles Rams running back Javian Hawkins.
